Commerce and trade on the Internet is mushrooming. People are using the Web more and more in an ever-increasing variety of daily tasks. But I bet the early pioneers of the Internet never quite envisaged such rapid growth. The Internet is having the effect of leveling the playing field to some extent. Outsourcing is creating new economies and the wealth is moving in much more varied circles in today's trading environment.

One task which many companies outsource is data entry. There are small independent firms popping up all over the place in countries like India and since they can survive on a much lower income than we in the West, they can provide a highly competitive service. We are seeing a massive increase in free data entry advertising on the Internet. There are data entry and other writing jobs in abundance online and it is Western companies driving this partnership with developing digital nations.
